Three years ago, after two failed attempts trying to find a suitable day care provider, I counted my blessings when I found Pooh and Friends. I had tried a private nanny and when that did not work I enrolled my daughter in a family day care. When my daughter started to come home with signs of neglect I quickly moved her out and found Pooh and Friends. Moving my daughter to Pooh and Friends was the best decision and we have not looked back ever since. From the start it become obvious that the directors, teachers and staff are people who care deeply about children. I knew by the third day, when I saw my child ran into the arms of her new teacher, that this was the right place for her.
At Pooh and Friends the teachers are patient and loving and go beyond the call of duty. My daughter has had some minor, yet sensitive medical issues that require special care. The teachers have always been able to accommodate my daughter’s need and help her meet her goals. When she was a baby teachers gave me daily reports on her progress and behavior. The directors, Flavia and Roberto, are involved in every aspect of running the center; are always respond quickly to requests and concerns; and are teachers themselves. You quickly get a sense that their wonderful team was meant to take care children. They personally get to know every single child, and provide an atmosphere and environment were children develop socially, emotionally and even academically in the later years. More importantly, it is palpable that they love and enjoy working with children–they were meant to be in this line of work.
Now that my child is in the preschool section of the center, I have enjoyed seeing how much my daughter is learning in preparation for school. But at the end of the day I am more relaxed just knowing that my child is well-cared for and loved; which is ultimately, in my opinion, the most important thing of a good day care can provide.
